What does Gene Therapy Mean :-
Gene therapy means changing the denes inside your own body cells in order to stop a certain disease progression and treatment purposes. As genes are the carriers of your genetic code that determines every thing about you…. Your body shape and function. This is because your genes carry what is called DNA that is the gene code for your body that is used by your body cells for protein manufacturing  that is used by your body to do a certain job e.g make you taller or determine any other character in your own body.
Gene Therapy – An Overview
Now; what if some of the genes doesn’t work properly within your body, of course this would cause improper protein production and may causes diseases. Hence the role of the gene therapy is to replace the improperly functioning gene in an attempt to cure the developed disease of produce a certain changes within your body to render your body able to combat the disease more efficently.
It is worth to say that gene therapy holds a great promises for treating most of our untreatable disease like cancer, heart disease, diabetes mellitus and hemophilias.
How does gene therapy works:
There are many several ways used in gene therapy to get gene therapy best results including:
•    Replacing mutated genes or missing genes:
This approach nowadays is the most common approach in gene therapy revoultion. Some cells became diseased due to mutations – alteration – in their specific genes which is always permanent mutations. Hence; researchers aiming at replacing the missing or mutated genes to treat the resultant disease.
Gene Therapy – An Overview
•    Changing the regulating gene:
One of the gene therapy modules is that, turning of the mutated genes that cause the disease so they are no longer promote the progress of the disease so that disease progress inhibited.
•    Rendering diseased cells more prominent to patients immune system
In some diseade the patient immune systems doesn’t attack the diseased cells because of its inability to recognize them – the diseased cells – so that one of the inciming gene therapy strategies inculde that making the diseased gene more prominent to the immune system to get identified as an intrudent and hence removed.
